What Is PVD Plating?

PVD stands for Physical Vapor Deposition. Instead of dipping a piece in a chemical bath like traditional plating, the gold is bonded to the stainless steel in a vacuum chamber, where it’s vaporized and fused to the surface at a molecular level.

Why it lasts longer than regular plating:

• It’s bonded, not layered on top. Traditional plating sits on the surface and can wear thin, chip, or flake over time. PVD becomes part of the surface.
• It’s harder. PVD coatings resist scratches and everyday wear better.
• It resists tarnish and fading. It holds up to moisture, sweat, and daily wear without turning your skin green or dulling.

This is why you can wear your necklace every day.

Do I need experience with pendulums?
Not at all. The included instructions walk you through setting your yes/no directions and asking your first questions, and the videos show it in action.

How do I use it?
Hold the chain between your thumb and forefinger, let the crystal settle, then ask a clear yes-or-no question and notice which way it moves. Your instructions cover how to find your own yes, no, and maybe movements.

Can I wear it every day, or is it only for readings?
Both. It’s designed to be worn as everyday jewelry and used as a pendulum whenever you feel called to.

How do I cleanse my quartz?
Quartz is generally considered easy to cleanse. Choose whichever feels right to you:

• Smoke cleansing: pass it through sage, palo santo, or cleansing herbs
• Moonlight: rest it in the light of the moon overnight, especially a full moon
• Sunlight: a short time in gentle sunlight (quartz can fade with long exposure, so keep it brief)
• Sound: use a singing bowl, bell, or tuning fork
• Breath: hold it and exhale over it with the intention to reset
• Intention: simply hold it and set the intention to clear it
• Earth: rest it on a bed of salt, or bury it in the earth for a time (see the salt note below)

Note: avoid soaking natural crystals in salt water, since it can dull the surface and affect your chain.

What’s the difference between the gold and steel finish?
Gold is 14k gold plated PVD stainless steel with 14k gold fill wire, for a warm, golden look. Steel is classic stainless steel with 316L stainless steel wire, for a cool, silver-toned look. The quartz pendulum is the same in both.

How do I care for it?
Your necklace is waterproof, so it’s safe to shower and sweat in. To help it last a lifetime, take it off before swimming in chlorine and, when you can, after heavy sweating (like a hard workout), then give it a quick wipe with a soft cloth. Your necklace will arrive within a Satin Pouch to keep it in when you are not wearing it.

Is the quartz ethically sourced?
Yes, the quartz is ethically sourced and hand cut. 

Is each pendulum exactly the same?
Because the crystals are natural and hand cut, each one has its own character, and slight variations are part of what makes yours unique.
